Parish Announcements – 30th November, 2025

  1. ADVENT: Today is the First Sunday of Advent, the beginning of the Liturgical Year 2025-2026. Advent has a two-fold character to prepare for Christmas, Christ’s first coming and also for his second coming at the end of time. Sunday readings are from year A and weekday readings from Cycle 11. Let us all prepare to participate in this devout and joyful season of expectation.
  1. PARISH ADVENT RETREAT: Our Parish Advent Retreat starts Sunday, 14th December, 2025 to Friday, 19th December 2025. The theme is: Prepare a way for the Lord’’ (Isiah. 40:3)”. Retreat Moderator: Rev. Fr. Benjamin Ometan, CSsr. Let us all participate actively. Time is 5:30pm daily.
  1. REGIONAL ADVENT PILGRIMAGE: Our Badagry Regional Advent Pilgrimage comes up on Saturday 6th December 2025 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Okokomaiko. There shall be rosary, Confession, Spiritual Talk, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Holy Mass. Time: 8am. All societies and organizations are expected to send three representatives each to join the bus. Other parishioners willing to join the bus should kindly register before Wednesday December 3rd, 2025. We are all encouraged to attend this important spiritual exercise.
  1. TITHE SUNDAY: Next Sunday is Tithe Sunday, those who wish to pay their tithes should pick up an envelope for use next week. You can also make your transfers to our Fidelity Bank 5080032193 in favour of Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac.
  1. FIRST MONDAY ANOINTING: Tomorrow, 1st December 2025, is the first Monday of the month. There shall be special blessing and anointing at all masses. Let us all endeavour to participate in this spiritual exercise.

IMPACT HFCC 1st FRIDAY PRAISE PROGRAM: By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name (Heb 13:15) Join us for the IMPACT NOVEMBER edition as we join our voices in gratitude to God for his goodness and mercy. It will hold as follows: Friday, 5th November 2025 Beginning with the Holy Mass at 6pm, There will be Exposition of the Holy Eucharist, Intercessory prayer and Sound Worship and Praise.
  1. FIRST FRIDAY COMMUNION TO THE SICK AND HOME-BOUND: The First Friday visit and communion to the sick and home-bound comes up this Friday, 5th December, 2025
  1. CRUSADE: HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL, NEW JERUSALEM COMMUNITY. FESTAC: PRESENTS A 5 DAYS POWER PACKED CRUSADE: THEME: “PEACE, BE STILL!”  MARK 4.39. FEATURING: HOLY MASS, SALVATION, INTENSE PRAISE WORSHIP, HEALING, DELIVERANCE, RESTORATION, BREAKTHROUGH AND MANY MORE.  DATE: Monday 1st to Friday 5th December, 2025. Monday to Thursday begins 6pm to 9pm. Friday Vigil.10pm till dawn. VENUE: 23 Road FHA STADIUM.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SHARING: The society of St. Vincent de Paul Society wishes to ask for the kind support of all Parishioner to donate towards their annual food sharing, so that the poor & needy may have something to live on this Christmas.   1. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: There will be SCC meetings in our various community centres on Wednesday, 3rd December, 2025 at 6.00 pm prompt. Scriptural Reading: Mathew 3: 1- 12. SCC mass will be at Our Mother of Perpetual Help SCC. Venue: 3rd Avenue, G Close, House 4, FESTAC Town.
  1. YCW WHITE CHRISTMAS PARTY 6TH EDITION: The Young Christian Workers Movement of Nigeria Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac Town heartily invites you to her annual White Christmas Party. Date: 7th December, 2025. Time: The Event begins with Red Carpet at 3:00pm. Tickets are available at our stand outside the church. Regular: 10,000; VIP:20,000(with exceptional treats).

PARISH FESTIVAL OF CHRISTMAS CAROLS AND LESSONS: The Holy Family Choir Council invites all parishioners and guests to the 2025 Service of Carols and Lessons with the theme “Peace on Earth, hope for all… (Lk. 2:14). This event will take place on Sunday, 14th December, 2025, at the Main Church Building. Time: 3:30pm prompt!! There will be interesting and entertaining performances from the CMO, CWO, CYON, HCC and other a special Father Christmas visit.   1. CONFESSION: In preparation for the Christmas and new year, we want to encourage all parishioners to attend the sacrament of Reconciliation. Confessions for the end of the year will be held on Saturday 20th  December 2025 immediately after the morning mass and will resume on Thursday 8th January, 2026.
  1. CHRISTMAS PARTY: The members of the Confraternity of the Miraculous Infant Jesus heartily invites all parishioners and friends of the Holy Infant Jesus to her annual birthday party celebration. This year’s event is loaded with lots of fun, plenty of food to eat and drink and so much gifts to be won. Venue: Holy Family Catholic Church, 22 Road, Festac Town, Date: Thursday, 25th December 2025 (Christmas Day). Time: 1:00pm prompt.   1. CATECHISM: Catechism classes close on Saturday 13th December 2025 and will resume on Saturday 24th January 2026.
  1. PARISH OFFICE: The Parish Office will close for Christmas Break on Friday, 19th December 2025, to reopen on Wednesday 7th January, 2026. Please take note. Mass Bookings can be done at the Sacristy after mass.
  1. 21-DAY FOUNDATIONAL PRAYER: All Parishioners are specially invited to next year’s Parish 21-Day Foundational Prayer 2024. Theme:Rooted in Christ for Fruitfulness. Date: 10th – 30th January 2026.   1. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be continuing with EXDOUS Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
