Parish Announcements – 15th June, 2025

  1. SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY: Today 15th June, 2025 is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, the undivided unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Let us all celebrate this great mystery of the Church.
  1. FATHER’S DAY CELEBRATION: We wish a “Happy Father’s Day” to all fathers and men in our parish. May God make you provident Guardians of our families just like St. Joseph.
  2. SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: Next week Sunday, 22nd June 2025 is the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus et Sanguinis Christi). It is a day set aside by the Church to remember and appreciate Jesus’ gift of His body and blood to mankind for our sanctification, and salvation (eternal life). Let us all prepare to celebrate this great mystery of the Church where Jesus is really PRESENT in the Holy Eucharist though in the form of bread and wine.
  1. ORDINARY TIME: The Liturgical Period referred to as “Ordinary Time of the Year” has begun. The weeks of Ordinary Time celebrates no particular aspect of the mystery of Christ. The saying of “Angelus” is resumed.
  1. ST. THOMAS MOORE NOVENA: Due to the ongoing St. Thomas Moore Novena, patron Saint of the laity, that will end on Saturday 21st, 2025 which begins immediately after the 6:30pm mass on weekdays, and on Saturdays immediately after the 6:30am mass, please note that there won’t be SCC this Wednesday. We encourage all parishioners to participate in this Novena as it is for all Lay Faithfuls. May the Lord hear our prayers through the intercession of St. Thomas Moore Amen.
  1. CHRISTIAN WAKE: There will be a Christian wake for Late Mrs. (Lolo) Mary Nwiorimma Anyamele on Thurs 19th June 2025 by 6pm at her residence 512 road C close, Block 4 Flat 7, Festac Town Lagos. She was a member of Catholic Women Organization (CWO) and St. Jude. Let us continue to pray for the repose of her soul.

  1. CATECHISM CLASSES: Registrations into Catechism classes for Adult Confirmation classes start on Sunday 6th July 2025. Registration ends on Sunday 31st, August 2025.
  1. PARISH HYMN BOOKS: We appreciatethe Knights and Ladies of St. Mulumba, Festac sub-council for their kind donations of hymns books for our use. We appeal to us to kindly handle them with care and do not take them away.

  1. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be continuing with the 2nd CORINTHIANS. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
