  1. ADVENT: Today is the First Sunday of Advent, the beginning of the Liturgical Year 2024-2025. Advent has a two-fold character to prepare for Christmas, Christ’s first coming and also for his second coming at the end of time. Sunday readings are from year C and weekday readings from Cycle 1. Let us all prepare to participate in this devout and joyful season of expectation.
  1. TITHE SUNDAY: Today, the first Sunday of the month is Tithe Sunday, there shall be a special blessing before the Second Collection. You can also make your transfers to our Fidelity Bank 5080032193 in favour of Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac.
  1. CMO FESTAC DEANERY: We welcome the members of the catholic Men Organization Festac Deanery to our parish for their general meeting. We wish you fruitful deliberation.
  1. CCCF INVESTITURE: We rejoice with the members of the Catholic Confraternity of Christian Fathers on their inaugural investiture of members at the 10am Mass. May God bless and reward all our fathers always. Amen.
  1. FIRST MONDAY ANOINTING: Tomorrow, 2nd December 2024, is the first Monday of the month. There shall be special blessing and anointing at all masses. Let us all endeavour to participate in this spiritual exercise.
  1. PARISH FESTIVAL OF CHRISTMAS CAROLS AND LESSONS: The Holy Family Choir Council invites all parishioners and guests to the 2024 Service of Carols and Lessons with the theme “Born is the Light of the World… (Lk. 2:8-9; Jn.1:2-5). This event will take place on Sunday, 8th December, 2024, at the Main Church Building. Time: 3:30pm prompt!! There will be interesting and entertaining performances from the CMO, CWO, CYON, HCC and other a special Father Christmas visit. Families or individuals who wish to perform should contact: Pamela: 08130631148. Special Brochure for next Sunday will be sold for #500 only.
  1. FIRST FRIDAY COMMUNION TO THE SICK AND HOME-BOUND: The First Friday visit and communion to the sick and home-bound comes up this Friday, 6th December, 2024.
  1. PARISH ADVENT RETREAT: Our Parish Advent Retreat comes up from next Sunday 8th December, 2024 to Friday, 13th December 2024. The theme is: Waiting in Joyful Hope (Lk. 1:46-55)”. Retreat Moderator: Rev. Fr. Odede, CSsR. Let us all participate actively. Time is 5:30pm daily.
  1. HARVEST PLEDGE REDEMPTION: We wish to encourage all parishioners to kindly redeem their pledges and commitment made during the Harvest of Thanksgiving at the Harvest Stand (on Sunday) and the parish office (on Weekdays) in cash, cheque or POS and get a receipt. You can as well pay directly to the Harvest Account; HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH, HARVEST, ZENITH 1014506326. Family Harvest Thanksgiving is still ongoing. Kindly contact the Harvest committee to book your date.
  1. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: SCC meetings will take place at various community centers on Wednesday, 4th December 2024 at 6pm. Scriptural reading: Luke 3:1-6. Please note that there will be no evening Mass or Society meetings during the SCC time. There shall be mass this Wednesday at St. Albert the Great SCC. Venue: 5th Avenue, M Close, House 18, Festac Town. All those living around should be in attendance. Please refer to the Parish notice board or parish website for the various centers.
  1. ORGANIZATIONS MEETING: Next Sunday, 8th December 2024, is the Monthly General Meetings of the Catholic Men Organization and Catholic Women Organization (after the 10.00am Mass) and Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (after the 8:00am Mass). Let us all prepare to attend our respective organization meetings.
  1. FESTAC DEANERY CRUSADE: There shall be a 3-day Festac Deanery Crusade from Wednesday 4th December to Friday 6th December 2024 at the FHA mini stadium, 23Road, Festac. There shall be daily Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, inspired messages,  ministrations and abundance of God’s blessings. Time is 6:30pm daily and vigil on Friday at 10pm.   1. BIBLE READING CHALLENGE THIS DECEMBER: Did you know that the Gospel of Luke contains 24 chapters? This fits perfectly with the number of days in ADVENT! You are challenged, but most importantly Encouraged to read through the Gospel of Luke during the season of advent, reading one chapter a day from December 1st until Christmas Eve. You will read the entire story of Jesus and complete it just in time for his birth. Remember theme is the REASON for the SEASON.
  1. CHRISTMAS PARTY: The members of the Confraternity of the Miraculous Infant Jesus heartily invites all parishioners and friends of the Holy Infant Jesus to her annual birthday party celebration. This year’s event is loaded with lots of fun, plenty of food to eat and drink and so much gifts to be won. Venue: Holy Family Catholic Church, 22 Road, Festac Town, Date: Wednesday, 25th December 2024 (Christmas Day). Time: 1:00pm prompt.   1. CHRISTMAS TREE: As we prepare for the joyful Christmas season, we invite you to support our carol celebration by adding your name to the Christmas tree for a token of 5,000 naira. This gesture will also feature your name in the carol brochure and contribute to making our event even more special.   1. CHRISTMAS SHARING: The Society of St. Vincent De Paul wishes to inform parishioners that her annual Christmas Sharing for the poor and needy ones is here again. As such, we plead for your support. We need non-perishable food items such as bags of rice, beans, garri, cooking oil etc. Kindly donate in cash or kind to the society or contact the Parish Priest. You can as well transfer to: First Bank, St. Vincent De Paul, 2027264230. God bless you richly as you give to the Lord through the poor and the needy.
  1. 21-DAY FOUNDATIONAL PRAYER: All Parishioners are specially invited to next year’s Parish 21-Day Foundational Prayer 2025. Theme:Abide in the Vineand the focus is: True Congregational Fruitfulness comes from a deep relationship with Christ”. Date: 11th – 31st  January 2025. Time: 6pm – 9pm excluding days of vigil. Venue: Holy Family Catholic Church, 22 Road, Festac Town, Lagos. Come and be Blessed!!
  1. ARCHDIOCESAN ADVENT PILGRIMAGE: This year’s Archdiocesan Pilgrimage hold on regional level and shall be held at St.Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Okokomaiko on Saturday 14th December 2024 at the 8am. There shall be Mass, Rosary Procession, Spiritual Reflection, Confessions and Adoration. Every society is expected to send a representative through the parish bus. We are all encouraged to be in attendance.
  1. BLESSSING OF WATER & SACRAMENTALS: There will be blessing of water and other sacramental every Tuesday during the evening mass. We are all encouraged to participate actively.
  1. OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP: Parishioners are encouraged to light candles for their various intentions at the statue of Our Lady of Perpetual Help beside the Sanctuary. Please note that ONLY CUP CANDLES are allowed.
  1. ALTAR WINE: Please be reminded that our altar wine is now sold for N6,500 (per bottle) and N78,000 (per carton). We apologize for any inconveniences.
  1. SECURITY ALERT: Dear beloved parishioners, beware of the fraudulent activities in our parish! Scammers are hacking into WhatsApp platforms, asking for money or codes. Never send money or personal information via email or message and verify requests by contacting the parish office or priests directly.
  1. PARISH ID CARDS: This is to inform parishioners that the Parish ID cards of those who registered since last year 2023 and beyond are ready for collection at the Parish Office, kindly go to the Parish Office to check. Also, we encourage our new members to please register at the Parish Office and those whose card is expired can as well renew at the Parish Office.
  1. CLEANING OF THE CHURCH: We kindly urge all parishioners to adopt a proper maintenance culture regarding the upkeep of our church properties and premises. This includes:

– Using the waste bins provided to dispose of trash, rather than littering the church grounds.

– Make use of the Toilet and Ensure it is left in a clean state after use.

– Returning and properly arranging chairs to their designated places after use (we appeal to all societies to take responsibility for this).

– Parents, please supervise your children and prevent them from damaging the flowers.

We extend our gratitude to those parishioners who have been consistently helping with sweeping and maintaining the church compound’s cleanliness. May God bless you all.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
