  1. SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION: Thursday May 29th, 2025 is the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, forty days after Easter. It is a holy day of obligation and all Catholics are obliged to attend mass and observe the Solemnity devoutly Masses shall be at the usual times.
  1. PENTECOST NOVENA: Our annual Pentecost novena comes up from Friday May 30th to Saturday June 7th,2025. With the theme, “THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME’’ (LK 4: 18) and there shall be daily talks and ministration, beginning with the rosary at 5:30pm daily. It is the oldest novena in the church and all parishioners are encouraged to participate actively: Day 1: 30th May- Do not conform to the standard of the world (Rom. 12:1-2) Day 2: 31st May-. Draw near to God. (James 4:8).

Day 3: 1st June-. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit. (2 Cor.13:14).

Day 4: 2nd June-. He will teach you all things (John 14:26).

Day 5: 3rd June-.. Hold strongly to HIS promises (Heb.10:23).

Day 6: 4th June-.. Anointing breaks the yoke (Isaiah 10:27).

Day 7: 5th June-.. Have the mind of Christ. (Phil.2:5).

Day 8: 6th June-.. In the day of HIS Power (Psalm 110:3).

Day 9: 7th June-.. Be filled with the Holy Spirit: Eph: 5:18

Pentecost Sunday: 8th June-.. Theme: The Spirit of the LORD is upon me. Lk: 4:18

  1. PENTECOST: Sunday June 8, 2025 is the Solemnity of Pentecost, the official birthday of the Church. Our Parish will be hosting the sacrament of confirmation for the Badagry region at the 10:30am mass.
  1. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: Wednesday, 28th May, 2024 at 6.00 pm. Scriptural Reading: John 17: 20-26, SCC Mass: St. Albert SCC Venue: 5th Avenue, N Close, House 5, FESTAC Town. All those living around should be in attendance, please refer to the parish notice board or parish website for the various centres.
  1. CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION: Our annual Parish Children’s Day celebration, organized by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, comes up on Tuesday May 27th, 2025. Beginning with the Holy mass at 12.30pm and the social celebrations immediately after.
  1. ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE 2ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE REDEDICATION OF HFCC: The Parish Pastoral Team congratulates and thanks all parishioners for a successful celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the rededication of our church building and further implores us as follows:

– Redemption of pledges of non-perishable food items and funds is ongoing. The designated church account for the donations is: Access bank, 0026548146, Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac.

-. The sharing of the food items to the parishioners in need as earlier proposed shall be on     the 31st day of May, 2025.

  1. WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY: The Holy Family Catholic Church Festac Town is celebrating World Communications Day on June 1st, 2025, with the theme “Share with Gentleness the Hope that is in Your Hearts.” The event will focus on using social media for evangelization, digital ethics, and building online Catholic communities. Join virtually on social media platforms (@hfccfestac) for quizzes, games, and prizes, and let’s share Christ’s message with love and gentleness.
  1. CATECHISM CLASSES: Registrations into Catechism classes for First Holy Communion & Confirmation will come to a close on 31st May 2025. All concerned should endeavour to make hay while the sun shines”.  Adult Confirmation classes start on Sunday 6th July 2025. Registration ends on Sunday 31st, August 2025.
  1. MAY DEVOTION: The May devotion program ends on Saturday 31st of May, 2025. There will be rosary procession immediately after 6.30 am mass. We  are all encouraged to participate actively on that day.

  1. ARCHDIOCESAN ENGAGEMENT FOR MISSION PROGRAMME (AEMP): The AEMP is a leadership development program designed for all adult parishioners within the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos.   1. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be continuing with the ROMANS. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
