Parish Announcements – 24th April, 2022

  1. SPECIAL BLESSING FOR THE MONTH: Today is the Last Sunday of the month. There shall be a special thanksgiving for those born in the month of April and those who had wedding anniversaries or any special celebration during this month.
  1. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY: Today, the second Sunday of Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday. It ends the Easter Octave and focuses on the gift of mercy and love given through Christ\’s death, burial, and resurrection.
  1. LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR: Our Parish Life in the Spirit Seminar begins today, 24th April, 2022. Let us all prepare to participate actively and deepen our relationship with the Holy Spirit.
  1. MOTHER\’S DAY CELEBRATION: Today is our parish Mother\’s Day thanksgiving and celebration. It will begin with the Holy Mass at 10:30am, and the celebrations will follow immediately after the mass at the Parish Event Center.  We are all invited and encouraged to celebrate our mothers. The event will feature amongst othres; fashion parade and dance competitions etc.

  1. FEAST DAY: Monday, 25th April and Satueday, 30th April are the feasts of St Mark the Evangelist and Our Lady, Mother of Africa respectively. We are all encouraged to attend mass as there will masses at the usual times.
  1. DONATE A PEW: We wish to express our deepest appreciation to all our parishioners for your generosity at last week’s “Donate a Pew Project Launch for our New Church Building”. May God bless us all abundantly. Further donations and pledge redemption can be done to the account- Holy Family Catholic Church, Zenith 1011876127, at the Parish Office or at the Booth opposite the Parish Bookshop.
  1. TITHE SUNDAY: Next Sunday is Tithe Sunday, those who wish to pay their tithes should pick up an envelope for use next week.  You can also make your transfers to our Fidelity Bank 5080032193 in favour of Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac.
  1. The mass time for Sundays has been returned to its pre-COVID schedule; 6am, 8am, 10am and 6pm (Main Church), 6am & 8am (Event Center) and 5pm benediction and vespers.
  1. KNOW YOUR FAITH: This Saturday, April 30th, 2022, we shall have our Parish Monthly Know Your Faith/ Doctrinal Class during the 6:30am Mass. All Parishioners are encouraged to be in attendance so as to grow in the faith.
  1. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (SCC): SCC meetings has resumed and will take place at various community centers on Wednesday, 27th April 2022 at 6pm. Scriptural reading: John 21:1-19. Please note that there will be no evening Mass. Please refer to the previous bulletins or the Parish notice board for the various centers.
  1. CHARITY/LOVE BOWL: We wish to remind our parishioners to return their Lenten Charity/ Love bowls to St Vincent de Paul Society. Let us endeavor to be committed. Remember; “whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, that you do unto me”.
  1. ATTENTION: We wish to inform and plead with our dear parishioners that at the 10:30am masses, the seats behind the Reverend Sisters should be reserved for our newly baptised and communicants until Pentecost Sunday.
  1. MAY DEVOTION: We wish to remind our dear parishioners of the upcoming May Marian Devotion which begins on Sunday, 1st May, 2022. There shall be Rosary Procession at 4:30pm to commemorate the start of the novena.
  1. PARISH OFFICE: PARISH OFFICE: This is to inform all parishioners that the Parish Office will resume tomorrow for Mass Bookings, Parish Registration and other payments/Pledge redemption(s).
  1. CATECHISM: Dear parishioners, this is to inform you that Catechism Classes will resume on Saturday, 30th April, 2022 at the usual time (3:45pm). Also, we wish to inform our parishioners that registration for confirmation classes will begin next month (May). Registration can be done at the Catechist Resource Center on Saturdays of the May.
  1. PRE-MARRIAGE COURSE: This is to inform all parishioners that pre- marriage class which holds every Sunday at 4:00pm will resume today, Sunday, 24th April, 2022.
  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
